Asparagus Recipe - Stir fried asparagus with JiaoBai

Stir fried Asparagus with Wild Rice Stem

This Stir fried Asparagus recipe prepared with Wild Rice Stem, very tasty and refreshing.


100g asparagus

100g wild rice stem (Jiao Bai in Chinese)

Seasoning A

1 teaspoon salt

2 cup stock

Seasoning B

1 teaspoon shallot, chopped

1 teaspoon garlic, chopped

Seasoning C

{1 teaspoon oyster oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch,mix with water}

1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil


1. Clean asparagus and JiaoBai. Add Seasoning A in a saucepan, bring to a boil.

2. Add asparagus and JiaoBai. Bring to a boil again. Take out,drain well. Cut into small section.

3. Heat oil in a wok, add Seasoning B,stir fry till fragrance comes out. Add asparagus and JiaoBai sections. Stir fry several times. Add seasoning C, stir fry 2mins.

4. Turn off heat, arrange on a plate.

Wild rice stem (JiaoBai) is popular in South of China. It's also called white bamboo shoots. It clears away heat,relieve thirst and promote production of diuresis
