Duck with Yam and White Gourd Soup Recipe
b. Duck with Yam and White Gourd Soup Ingredients: 500g duck, cut into small blocks 100g white gourd 50g yam 1 tablespoon ginger,chopped 1 tablespoon shallot, chopped 1 teaspoon garlic,chopped 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 teaspoon salt Procedure 1. Quick-boil duck in hot water, take out. Clean white gourd(don't remove peel), cut into small flakes. Clean yam,remove peel, cut into small flakes. Set aside. 2. Add duck blocks in a pot, add 5 cups of water, add ginger,shallot, garlic, soy sauce. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, continue to cook 40mins. 3. Add white gourd flakes and yam flakes, bring to a boil again. Add salt to taste, cook additional 10mins. Turn off heat, skim oil on the surface, serve. Serving Method: Drink soup, eat duck meat,yam and white gourd. Serve before breakfast and before dinner. One small bowl each time. Beneficial Function: To nourish Yin,clear away heat. Suitable for those insomnia caused by Hyperactivity of fire due to Yin deficiency.
