Steamed Lotus Root Stuffed with Mung Bean and Carrot


Chinese Recipe: Steamed Lotus Root Stuffed with Mung Bean and Carrot Heart Healthy Recipe:Steamed Lotus Root Stuffed with Mung Bean and Carrot

Ingredients:

1 lotus root, (or 2 small)

1/2 cup of mung bean

1/2 cup carrot,

Procedure:

1. Soak mung bean in water for 30mins. Clean carrot, chopped or grinded.

2. Cut one end of the lotus root(about 1inch), you can see several holes on lotus root. Fill the holes with the mung bean and mashed carrot.( You may use a piece of chopstick to press).

3. Put the above lotus root on the drawer of a steam. Steam for 60mins, or until the lotus root thoroughly cooked.

4. Turn off heat, cut lotus root into think flakes. Serve.

Serving Methods: Serve as snack or deserve. Several thin flakes one time.

Beneficial Function: To nourish blood, invigorate spleen and stomach, reduce blood lipid. Suitable for those who are with hyperlipidemia, hypertension and arteriosclerosis.
