This stuffed bitter gourd recipe is steamed healthy Chinese recipe,delicious and colorful.
Beneficial Function: Clear heat, reduce blood sugar. Suitable for
diabetics.
Ingredients:
2 bitter gourd, raw
100g lean ground pork
Marinade
1 teaspoon shallot, chopped
1 teaspoon five species powder
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
Sauce A
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 pinch salt
2 tablespoon stock
1 teaspoon shallot, chopped
Procedure:
1. Mix ground pork with Marinade Sauce. Stir along the same direction until
tight and sticky.Add some water if dry. Marinate for 10mins.
2. Clean bitter gourd, drain well, cut transversely into 1 inch high section.
Seeds off. Each section looks like a ring.
3. Quick boil bitter gourd rings, drain well. Apply a layer of dry cornstarch
inside each ring. Fill in the above step 1 pork stuff one by one.
4. Arrange stuffed bitter gourd rings in a big plate, place in a steamer, steam 10mins.
5. While steaming, mix Sauce A, pour in a wok. Stir
the Sauce on medium heat till thicken.
6. Turn off heat, pour on the steamed bitter melon. Serve.
Note: If you don't like pork you can replace with ground beef, or replace with
tofu if you are a vegan.
Serving Method:
Serve as main dish at lunch or dinner.
