Chinese Beef Recipes and Lamb Recipes

Beef and lamb are foods with warm energy, suitable to eat in winter. In other seasons I eat very less meat. But I serve meat one or two times per week in winter. Meat can help us to prevent cold as well as store energy to meet the next Spring.

Northern Chinese people eat much more beef and lamb(mutton) in winter, most through braise, stew, or soup cooking methods. Slow cooking increases heat energy. Fortunately winter is holiday season. We have enough time to prepare these meat and enjoy with out families.

Slow cooking doesn't mean difficulty. In fact they are much easier than you can imagine.

People with internal heat (night sweat, fever, etc) don't eat these foods. These foods are good for northern people.

Beef Noodle Soup.A bowl of beef noodle soup means being full and satisfied for those who are tired and hungry. It's a kind of down to earth food. I can say that 100% Northern Chinese eat it. Get Beef Noodle Soup here

Braised Beef with Potato in Curry Sauce. Combining beef soup, potato powder, and India curry sauce, the juice will make you try to stop but cannot when served with steamed rice, or dip by steamed bun or bread. Get Beef Potato in Curry Sauce Recipe 


Lamb(mutton) Soup. In Shanghai winter  Lamb(mutton) restaurants becomes popular and welcomed. When the temperature drops you always hear people say "Let's go to drink mutton sup!" Get Lamb Soup Recipe here.



This Braised Lamb Recipe is Shanghai Style, a little sweet with strong fragrant flavor.This dish is good to those who have cold-related disease such as cough caused by coldness. Remember to bring your food box. You may not eat up all three dishes and
need to bring back home.
